We continue our look at Bethesda’s Fallout 4 DLC with a look at the upcoming Fallout 4 Vault-Tec Workshop release for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Bethesda was extremely busy at E3 2016. And while Fallout 4 wasn’t the focus of the event this year, the company still managed to make some key announcements.
On stage, the company confirmed new Fallout 4 DLC for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PS4. Three new add-ons are confirmed for 2016 and the first, Contraptions Workshop, arrived on June 21st for all three platforms.
Up next for Xbox One/PS4/Windows PC users is Vault-Tec Workshop and that’s the DLC we’re looking at today.
The fifth Fallout 4 DLC release, second of the next batch, is a brand new Workshop DLC. Vault-Tec Workshop looks like it will be an extremely interesting expansion, particularly if you like Fallout’s various vaults.
It’s still early but there are already some important things to know about the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC, its release date, file size, beta, price, and more.
There are also some things you can expect from Bethesda and its upcoming release and we’ll outline those things for you here.
Here’s what Fallout 4 Season Pass owners and prospective buyers need to know about the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC right now.
The Vault-Tec Workshop release date is confirmed for late July. And yes, that Steam leak/placeholder date was correct.
Bethesda’s confirmed the Vault-Tec Workshop release date for July 26th. This is the same date Steam’s mobile application started listing a few days before the announcement.
It’s not clear where the DLC will be landing on July 26th but you can assume North America and the EU will be involved.
We’ve seen Fallout 4 DLC delays in Asia for PC, Xbox One and PS4 so Fallout 4 owners there will want to keep an eye out for a Vault-Tec Workshop release date delay. We should know what’s what on July 25th, just ahead of the release.
One other note. Bethesda recently pushed out a 1.6.9 update for PC and it’s now available for the Xbox One. It’s not clear when it will roll out for the PS4 but we assume it will deploy sometime before the Vault-Tec Workshop release date next week.
The 1.6 update delivers support for “Upcoming Add-ons” which almost certainly means support for the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC.
It’s safe to assume that you’ll need the 1.6 update to play/run the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC on your system of choice so you’ll want to get that installed if you want to play the next DLC ASAP.
